Part 5 of the South Bridge blog from John, part of the volunteer team......the results
The finishing touches are being being applied by the team
The South Bridge and surrounding door case bathed in winter sunshine
The finely restored railings are replaced
The restored Bourchier coat of arms and entrance frame
And the completed work on the lightwell below
Well done to all involved in this project to restore and save this important part of the 18th Century Hall.......it's now fit for purpose and ladies could safely exit here for their promenade along the garden.
Special thank you to the Wolfson Foundation for their generous support and support from our visitors and National Trust members, this enables us to continue essential conservation work and keep our special places, for ever, for everyone.
